BSNL recently launched several data plans which are priced at par with the 2G pack so as to encourage users to switch to 3G. We feel BSNL 3G packs are well priced and offer the best value for money. 155 plan has 1GB of bundled data that can be used within 30 days. A data pack of 1GB will also let you use your phone as hotspot during connectivity crisis.
BSNL + Micromax Partnership (Free Data Plans On Micromax Smartphones and Tablets)
Under this strategic partnership, India’s largest Telecom service provider, BSNL, is offering free data usage of up to 2GB per quarter on for 12 months on Micromax smartphones and tablets.
The offer also includes free voice calls on net (500 minutes per quarter for 12 months), plan voucher of Rs. 153 and more. Following six Micromax devices will be bundled with the BSNL offers- X070, X088, P410i, MMX377G, A37 and A37B.
‘BSNL’s association with Micromax, one of the largest indigenous Mobile handset and data card manufacturers in the country, will create immense opportunities for customers by offering them high speed 3G data. BSNL has already provided 3G coverage in more than 2300 cities and towns of India and is committed to provide 3G coverage to additional towns. BSNL will also introduce two new 3G data plans offering 1GB 3G benefits at Rs 177, from 30th September. The first plan includes Rs 177 for 1GB of data for 30 days and second plan offers Rs 231 for 1.2GB of data for 30 days.
2. Airtel 102 pack
This is one of the best pack for users who use their smartphones for Whatsapp, Facebook and sync Emails. Plus point is the 30 days validity. However this plan is not suitable if you browse a lot on your phones and download stuffs. This plan is available across all the circles.
3. Tata Docomo
155 power pack is best if you are always hooked to Facebook and Whatsapp as it offers 1GB of common data plus an additional 300MB data for the Facebook usage.If you need more data than the Rs 255 pack will entail you for a 1.5GB of generic usage, 300MB Facebook usage and unlimited Whatsapp usage valid for 30 days.
4. Aircel 255

Reliance has followed BSNL footstep and introduced 3G at 2G price. If you pay Rs156 you get 1GB of usage quota. If your usage pattern is lower then for Rs 123 you will get 400MB of bundled data. The validity of all these plans is 30days. However if you have not used 3G on Reliance then better checkup with the operator once if your circle has 3G connectivity.
Idea offers 1GB of 3G data for Rs 249 with a validity of 30days. This pack is however not available for all the circles. In Karnataka circle the 1GB plan is priced at Rs349. If your usage is on the lower side then Idea has 102 packages which give a limited data of 300MB but for 30 days. If you don’t use internet quite often on your phone then you can also try out the Rs 7 daily pass which lets you use the internet for 20 min.
Idea: 16 GB 3G data for all 3G smartphones
Idea is dolling out 16 GB 3G data ( 4GB 3G data every month for the next 4 months, worth Rs 3,200) for a nominal recharge of Rs 261 for its smartphones users. In addition, Idea customers also get to have a free subscription of Idea TV for 4 months. That’s quite a stellar bundled offering by the company.
MTS is offering many plans with high data usage. MTS offers 6GB for Rs 798 and the speed is throttled to 128 kbps after the free usage. If you intend to save some money then you can go for the Rs 1,898 plan which bundles 12GB data for two months.
Vodafone has good offers on its platter. Rs 100 pack will give you bundled data of 300MB for 28days. If you have more usage then that you can go for the 147 pack that will give 500MB data for 30days. Vodafone also has a 1GB data pack for Rs 249 which also has a validity of 30 days.
9. MTNL 3G
MTNL has restricted its services only to Delhi and Mumbai. MTNL not only has good coverage but it also has very affordable 3G packs. If you pay Rs 299 then you will get 2GB of 3G data for 30 days. MTNL has another plan for users who use their internet on specific day as a mere Rs 22 will give you 150MB of data extended over the entire day.
10. Airtel Whatsapp pack
Airtel has tailored an exclusive Whatsapp data pack which gives users 200 MB of Whatsapp usage data with a validity of 30 days. This pack costs Rs 46 and is extremely beneficial for people who only use Whatsapp in their phones.
